Archive for December 2008

New Years Eve is one of my favorite holidays. I remember being a kid and battling Mr. Sandman in an attempt to stay up and watch the ball drop in New York. In 2000, I stood outside in the freezing cold of Times Square to be a part of the magic that I had watched all the previous years of my life….and found out that it’s MUCH better to watch it on TV.

For the next few days, we’re going to take a break from all things blog related and ring in the New Year with style. So, strike up a rousing chorus of “Auld Lang Syne” and have a Happy New Year from all of us here at Crocs, Inc.

Here’s a testimonial that we have in our archives that I wanted to highlight. It’s from Denise “Ladybug” Hill from Cincinnati, Ohio – who created the Cheryl Rose Walden Foundation in 2003 to honor the passing of a loved one. Below is her story:

“Last summer I was hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. While the weather in the High Sierras was considered a very low snow year, I carried my Crocs [™ shoes] on my backpack. After all, they weigh very little. Below is my website journal entry in the High Sierras:

The 3rd annual Holiday Festival of Trees is still a fresh and lovely memory.  Crocs, Inc. participated in the event with the donation of a special tree! Our tree, decorated and surrounded by Crocs™ shoes was donated and raffled off to support the important work of Meals on Wheels of Boulder and the Rotary Club of Boulder Flatirons.

The event was a complete success, earning close to $19,000 – including about $9,500 for the Meals on Wheels program. The holiday season is an important time of giving – and this is just another example of how a little bit of help can go a long way!

We’ll be taking a short break for the next few days and want to wish everyone a happy holiday season. If you’re traveling – be safe. We’ll be back on Friday…

Ben’s Crocs[™ shoes] saved the day when we tried to put his rented tux shoes on. His Crocs[™ shoes] with the tux was one of the most talked about fashion statements at the wedding! Thanks Crocs!

Another Friday – another great photo from a Crocs™ shoes fan! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Nothing impresses me more than the compassion of the human spirit in tough times. When there is a disaster, people come together and rise up and do something to try to help. When there are people down, there are usually others willing to extend a helping hand; to gather the strength to change our world. Here at Crocs, Inc. headquarters in Colorado, we know that collectively – we can make a difference.

For the past two weeks, we have been gathering food for Community Food Share, a local organization that provides food to those in need in Boulder and Broomfield Counties. In each of our buildings, we placed boxes and asked employees to place whatever they could spare. The turnout was amazing – we had 50lb bags of rice, tons of canned fruits and vegetables, cereals – just look at the pictures below to see what a little effort and a lot of love can accomplish.
